Europe 2011

This year I took my first trip out of the states. I had the best time in Germany and France. Got to see friends I've just recently met, old friends and made new friends while I was there. Being over there felt extremely natural (except for the fact that I don't speak French or German). Here is a little bit of my experience.

This is my friend Lisa and I at a typical German restaurant. Lisa is a friend that I met in High School 11 years ago and this was the first time we have been able to see each other since. Anywho, this is us drinking giant beers!

This is Lisa's roommate Maren. She was able to snag us some tickets for a handball match!! And more beer...

All of us at the match!! Another one of Lisa's friends Fatma. She was just so full of life and extremely interesting to speak with.

Germany vs. Spain. Ended up being a tie.

After the match we went to Roman Baths is Baden-Baden, Germany. Incredible!!! There were some outside and inside. I did have a weird encounter with an older fat bald man who thought it was ok to put his hands on me, but besides that it was lovely!

After the baths we wanted a nice meal, so of course we went to McDonalds. First time eating at a McDonalds in Europe, not too bad. America needs to step up their game on fast food!

This was actually my last night in Europe. I was taking the train to Le Mans from Paris and ended up on the wrong train, taking an extra hour and a half to get there. But, I made it! Sophie picked me up and took me back to her parents house and I ate and crashed!

Ah, the Eiffel Tower.......I miss you Paris!

Aaaannnddd, more drinking! Sophie and I found this really cute little cafe after going to the Eiffel Tower. We needed that drink!

I love the subway system in Paris. It was extremely easy to navigate. Last year I went to New York a lot to visit my ex and I would get so frustrated with the subway system there. Paris was so user friendly :-)

The Catacombs! This was insane! Rows and rows of bones stacked in different designs. It was a little spooky at first but then you realize the time put into this and it's pretty much beautiful.

Me infront of Sacre Coeur

Sophie and I stopped at a little cafe to have lunch and I got mussels with fries, bread and wine. Delicious! Sophie taught me a new way to eat mussels. Instead of using a little fork, you just use one of the mussels to pinch out the meat. Genius!

Photo shoot sesh in the bathroom, gettin sassy!

Was introduced to the young man while I was in Paris. He took me out and showed me a good time with his buddies. Last night in Paris...not too shaby.

Lisa making dinner one night in Germany. You are a great cook Lisa! :)

Everyone rides bikes in Germany. Some of their bike lanes are as big as our lanes for cars to drive in! This was taken outside a club we just went to. We took a taxi...

Of course I had to do some shopping!!!!! The reason I have all of this stuff on me is because the lady thought it would be necessary to show me everything they had, on me. Well I did buy the dress and a scarf. Beautiful clothing, could not pass it up!

I was thirsty from walking around and shopping so there was a little Capri Sun stop.

Pigs everywhere!!! Apparently they are for good luck, thats why they eat them all the time too, I guess. But these were probably the best good luck pigs I saw!

These two pictures are at a castle in Germany. Beautiful!!! In the basement of the castle there is an old wine cellar with huge wooden barrels. From the castle you can see a little cottage in the distance and this use to be Hitler's summer cottage.

The slide we took to get down from the hill we just walked up to see a castle.

More wine!

I had to buy lingerie while I was in France :-)

Overall this was an amazing experience! I honestly did not have a favorite out of everything, it was just all so different from one another. It was terrific trying all the different types of foods and drinks. I truly do miss it over there and hope to go back soon!
